We’re Weymouth’s harbourside fishmonger, based in the historic Old Fish Market, with counters full of the freshest Dorset seafood and shellfish, landed daily on the quayside right outside the shop.
The regeneration of The Old Fish Market is a private passion for Weyfish owners Sean Cooper and Bob Hope, with the aim of opening up the building for everyone to enjoy.
Right now, we’re renovating the interior to create a much larger space to display fabulous local produce.
We’re a community business with strong ties to the local fleet, proud of our produce and its provenance, always ready to answer your questions or offer some expert advice.
Weymouth’s historic fish market has been a harbourside landmark for over 150 years. Constructed in 1855, by renowned British architect Thomas Talbot Bury, it was built to provide a permanent home for the town’s twice-weekly market.
Over the decades, it hasn’t always played host to its original purpose, housing storage for the harbour and sadly falling into disrepair. But more recently, Weyfish has restored this Grade II listed building to the role it was intended for, the commercial heart of the local fishing industry.
