Bincleaves Green

Bincleaves Green is a quiet open space over looking Newton’s Cove, it is situated at the end of Bincleaves Road.

Here you will find a monument to Sir Thomas Foxwell Buxton who led the movement for the abolition of slavery in the United Kingdon.

There is also an old Coast Guard lookout post.

From the Green you can see the Bincleaves Groyn. It is the second largest of four breakwaters which create Portland Harbour

The Green has several benches and is quiet spot to enjoy views of the Bay and Portland Harbour.
