The Rodwell Trail is a 3.4 km walk/cycleway along the route of the disused Weymouth to Portland Railway from the centre of Weymouth to Ferrybridge in Wyke Regis which spans the world famous Fleet Lagoon and links the Isle of Portland to the mainland. It is part of National Cycle Route 26 which extends southward to the Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy, the country’s premier sailing venue and host venue for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Sailing Events.

Having fallen into disrepair in the 18th century, Sandsfoot Castle is a Tudor castle built in conjunction with Portland Castle by Henry VIII in 1539 to protect our shores from foreign invaders. Thanks to a substantial Heritage Lottery Fund grant this Scheduled Monument is currently being stabilised to allow full free public access early in 2012.

During your visit why not stroll around the exquisite Green Flag award-winning gardens.
