Based in Portland’s Balaclava Bay, the Underwater Curiosity Park has been especially designed to create a diving adventure inside the protective walls of Portland Harbour.

Created by Derek Luckhurst as part of the Castletown Regeneration Project, the park hosts a seabed full of curiosities such as a deep sea diver, a 3m long shark, two Admiralty mooring anchors and a ruined Roman temple, not to mention the abundance of marine wildlife making an new home in some of the artifacts!

The area covers and impressive 100m by 50m with a depth ranging from 10m to 14m and is suitable for both beginners and experienced divers.

Exact coordinates and local facilities including parking and accommodation can be found here. The Underwater Curiosity Park is within Portland Harbour Authority’s area of jurisdiction and to dive it a diving permit is required. Permits can be purchased from Portland Harbour Authority.
