THE RED ARROWS will be zooming into this year’s Weymouth Carnival at 15:00.
There was doubt that world-famous RAF aerobatic display team would be able to perform at Weymouth Carnival this year as organisers struggled in the early sponsorship drive.
However, thanks to the support of Weymouth BID, Dorset Cake Co and the Fantastic Sausage Factory who have combined covered the cost of the display, the Reds will be wowing the crowds at Carnival.
Chairman and Trustee of Weymouth Carnival & Events Club Ryan Hope said “We’re really pleased the Red Arrows can join on the 19th August at Weymouth Carnival”
“The Reds are the icing on the cake when it comes to carnival”
“15:00 was the latest time they could come as they have a second display later in the day at Plymouth”
“As well as the Reds we will also have the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight”
Deputy Chairman Lee Armstrong who is in charge of this year’s Grand Procession said “Although the timing isn’t ideal for everyone we hope that people will come for the whole day and stay to watch what is already looking to be bigger and better procession than previous years”
“We’ve had a huge increase in procession applications and more floats signed up due to the cheap insurance cost of only £15 through Weymouth Carnival & Events Club”
Applications are still being taken for the motorised procession and you can apply online at http://weymouthcarnival.co.uk/procession.
