The film is set during the Second World War in 1940 and will use Custom House Quay as a location. Dunkirk is the next blockbuster movie directed by Christopher Nolan and will star Harry Styles, Tom Hardy and Cillian Murphy.
From Tuesday 26th July, Custom House Quay between Weymouth Pavilion and East Street will be closed until 2000hrs on Friday 29th July.
Timings for filming are as follows;
Wednesday 27th July – 1100hrs to 2300hrs
Thursday 28th July – until 0200hrs Friday morning as night shots are being filmed.
Those who park in and around Custom House Quay are to move into other Council Car Parks at not extra cost;
Permit Zone L move to The Nothe Car Park or the North Quay Office
Permit Zone F move to Rear of the Pavilion or The Swannery car parks
The closing of Custom House Quay will cause congestion on along the Esplanade so if you do not need to bring your car into town over the next few days we advise you to leave it at home.
The Weymouth Park and Ride service is now up and running which is the best option for those who are travelling in from outside of Weymouth or use the local bus service, click for First Bus Timetables.
