Get Hands on at this year’s Waterfest Weymouth
This year Waterfest will be held on Saturday September 5th, 11am – 6pm and Sunday 6th, 11am-5pm. The event celebrates Weymouth’s strong maritime heritage with sailing, diving, crafts, seafood, shanty music as well as entertainment on and off the water!
TRY your hand at some maritime crafts with the International Guild of Knot Tyers. They will be demonstrating maritime knots and give it a go yourself.
Watch Dorset’s only maker Alan Lander demonstrate the art of lobster pot making and interact with the Lyme Regis Boat Building Academy as they demonstrate their skills.
New to this year will be demos of the specialised art of maritime figurehead carving by Andy Peters, one of the top maritime woodcarvers in the world! He even did the figurehead for our own TS Pelican.
NEW to this year is the Maritime Activity Zone.
SEA-LIFE Adventure Park will be bringing their rock pool for you to see critters from the deep and learn about the conservation work SEA-LIFE is doing for our oceans. Encounter Cap’n Jack Sparrow and his trusty mate too!
Diamond Faces will also be on hand to complete that perfect pirate look!
