Freaky Streets, organised and produced by the Weymouth BID, opens on 24th October and runs until 1st November.
Freaky Friday takes place on the 30th October when 40 businesses will be taking part in a Freaky window and interior display competition.
Starting on the 24th October there will be a Freaky Hunt around Weymouth Town Centre which asks participants to follow clues to find the answers from characters on walls and buildings. Participants can also collect a treat from the Jurassic Skyline whilst taking part. All participants with the correct answers are in with the chance of winning some spooktacular prizes!
Whilst participants are searching the streets, they will be asked to rate the businesses Halloween displays. With over 40 businesses to choose from there will be plenty of choice as businesses get into the spooky spirit by decorating windows and interiors to create some haunting displays!
Nigel Reed from Weymouth BID said, “Last year the displays from businesses were fantastic and it created an excellent atmosphere in the town. It is great to see such a high number of businesses involved which helps to grow the event each year. These local events are very important in terms of driving footfall into the town and increasing levels of business.”
The main event is Freaky Friday on the 30th October where the streets of Weymouth will be filled with ghoulish games and activities including freaky pavement art, scary circus skills and Halloween Punch and Judy. There will also be spooky storytelling, devilish ballooning plus a spooky nail bar! A fancy dress competition will take place with entrants being judged in the afternoon.
