A vibrant and unique community dining festival, ‘FEAST Weymouth’ is a 6-week long celebration of local independent eateries that encourages diners to sample the delights of Weymouth’s varied foodie scene.
Feast Weymouth is proudly supported by Weymouth BID and sponsors include HIX Academy, Pixie, Roberts Fine Food and Albert Goodman.
Held between 1st October and 15th November, this year’s event involves over 30 participating restaurants, hotels, B&Bs, cafes, bars and grills offering set FEAST menus priced between £5 and £25. From seafood to steak, chips to ciabattas and pasta to pizza, there’s something to suit every diner and every budget.
The majority of participating venues are situated along Weymouth’s picturesque waterfront and historic town centre, providing the perfect backdrop to make the most of the region’s traditionally mild late autumn weather. The whole community joins together to get involved, with complimentary entertainment venues and even local taxi drivers offering special deals throughout the FEAST period.
This year our venues have promised a fantastic array of dishes including local fish and shellfish, aged steaks, homemade burgers, exotic curries and aromatic Chinese dishes. Not forgetting the traditional fish & chips, which is a must at the seaside! FEAST Weymouth is all about celebrating independent local eateries, from fine dining, to traditional pub grub – lunch or dinner, there is something for everyone.
Set menus are priced at £5, £10, £15, £20 or £25, and diners are strongly encouraged to book meals in advance to avoid disappointment. During the 2014 FEAST event some venues served well in excess of 1000 additional diners, and this year demand is expected to be even higher.
Last year there was a definite buzz surrounding the event, with one diner commenting,
“FEAST Weymouth has been a real eye-opener! The easy, affordable set menus on offer through FEAST has encouraged my wife and I to explore more of the town’s restaurants and spend more time socialising with friends. We’ll be booking early this year, that’s for sure!”
Menus will be launched in late September and are available on www.weareweymouth.co.uk/feast and are also published in The Dorset Echo, Dorset Food & Drink websites and the FEAST Weymouth Facebook & Twitter Pages. Each venue has its own terms & conditions, which are clearly displayed on the menus and event websites.
Diners are encouraged to get into the FEAST spirit on social media, using the hashtags #FEASTWeymouth to share pictures of their dining experiences across Facebook and Twitter.
