Every Bank Holiday weekend sees Quayside Music Festival take up it’s residency on Weymouth Harbour for a 2-day festival showcasing the best live music in town. With a large stage overlooking the harbour, a big screen, outdoor bars, food stalls, nearly 20 different bands and free entry it’s no wonder the event draws a very large crowd each and every time. The fun starts at midday on the Sunday when the first act takes to the stage then it’s non-stop until late evening then it’s more of the same on the Monday too!
Weymouth’s music scene is second to none, with so much live music, sometimes there isn’t space in the air for it all. The Wessex Folk Festival takes place on the harbourside and in Hope Square at the end of May every year. It attracts thousands of folkies and families to perhaps one of the biggest and most accessible free music and dance festivals in the country. New in 2015, Weymouth’s Out Loud Festival (26th– 27th June) is set to bring together live music in the pubs, busking in the town centre, street entertainers, comedy, and an outdoor music festival on the beach. Make sure you’re there to cheer it on!
