Remember, remember the 5th of November, its Guy Fawkes Night. Weymouth has one of the very best settings for the FREE bonfire and fireworks. A huge bonfire is built on the beach and the firework display is staged on a barge on the water creating great reflections in the sea, what better way to celebrate this annual event.
The fun starts at 4pm with the fabulous family funfair on the Pavilion forecourt, joining many traditional stalls and attractions on Weymouth Seafront. At 6.45pm, the traditional children’s Guy Fawkes competition gets underway in the foyer of the Weymouth Pavilion. Judging and prizes will be provided by the Weymouth Pavilion, Alexandra Gardens Pleasure Grounds and Weymouth Swimming Pool and Fitness Centre.
Children wanting to enter the Guy Fawkes competition should meet in the Weymouth Pavilion foyer with their Guys from 6pm. The competition will be judged by special guests including the Mayor of Weymouth Town Council Cllr Graham Winter, the Wessex FM team and the cast from Weymouth Pavilion’s Christmas pantomime ‘Cinderella’.
A popular highlight of the evening will of course be the lighting of the giant beach bonfire at 7.40pm, followed by the fantastic fireworks display in Weymouth Bay at 8pm.
