Dick Whittington – The Hilarious Pantomime Adventure!

Following the huge success of last year’s Record Breaking production of SLEEPING BEAUTY, and yet another immensely popular summer season of PIRATES OF THE PAVILION, Made to Measure Pantomimes return to the Weymouth Pavilion this Christmas with a brand new production of DICK WHITTINGTON!

The rags to riches story tells the tale of a boy from Gloucester who travels all the way to London to make his fortune, believing that the streets there are paved with gold! In actual fact, the streets are covered in rats, there’s an infestation of rodents throughout the city and it’ll be up to Dick and his funny feline friend to save the day and overthrow the Mistress of Misery…the Duchess of the Drains…the almighty villain – Queen Rat!

Local audiences will notice some familiar faces in this year’s production as several of the cast return from previous popular pantomimes at the Pavilion! Weymouth’s Favourite Dame LEE REDWOOD returns to the venue for his 6th Christmas Pantomime in the town, playing the hilarious SARAH THE COOK.

Word on the cobbles is that he’s attempting to beat last year’s record of 16 costume changes per show!

Once again, Lee will be joined onstage by GWYNFRYN WEST who plays her son IDLE JACK! Dick Whittington marks Gwynfryn’s 4th pantomime in Weymouth and we can’t wait to find out what antics he’ll get up to this time!

More familiar faces include the sensational YVONNE PATTERSON who wowed audiences with her powerful vocals last year as the evil CARABOSSE in Sleeping Beauty.

This Christ mas, Yvonne will be playing QUEEN RAT, with plans to take over London…and then the world! We also welcome back cheeky chappy CHAY LEWANDOWSKI, who plays TOMMY THE CAT! Last year, Chay appeared as the bumbling KING RAYMOND and he’s looking forward to exploring his feline side this Christmas!

Locals may also recognise Weymouth’s Own LEWIS ASQUITH, who plays the title role in this year’s festive production. Born and bred in Weymouth, Lewis has recently toured the UK as the Butler in ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’, as well as making his own fame and fortune in London’s West End! We are delighted that Lewis has agreed to return to his roots this Christmas and take on the lead role in the Weymouth Pavilion Pantomime!

Completing the cast are AIMI PERCIVAL, who plays the magical FAIRY BOWBELLS and two fantastic actors who are travelling all the way from Scotland to work in Weymouth this Christmas! The beautiful KARLA HARVEY joins the cast as ALICE FITZWARREN, and ALAN MCLAREN plays multiple roles in the show including ALDERMAN FITZWARREN, CAPTAIN BIRDTABLE & THE SULTAN OF MOROCCO!

Once again, we will be hosting a RELAXED PERFORMANCE on Thursday 20th December at 5pm. This one-off performance is ideal for people on the autism spectrum, or those living with disabilities. The sound levels are kept down, any pyrotechnics or strobe lights are removed from the show, and the house lights remain up at all times. Audiences are encouraged to get up and walk around if they feel the need, and can also take time out in a quiet areain the foyer. Additional wheelchair spaces are also created nearer the stage for the Relaxed Performance.
