An independent movie night for left-field movie lovers
We’re pleased to announce the launch of Weymouth’s only independent movie night. ‘The Last Monday Movie Club’ focuses on independent, world and classic cinema with a monthly screening.
The Last Monday Movie Club is based at The Waverley community hub in Weymouth and happens on the last Monday of every month. Each of the carefully selected movies will be introduced and followed by a short engaging discussion.
For the first ‘The Last Monday Movie Club’ we shall be screening the French modern classic ‘Amelie’, (2001)… taking place at… THE WAVERLEY COMMUNITY HUB, 121 Abbotsbury Road, Weymouth on MONDAY 24th SEPTEMBER, doors open at 7pm – proceedings start at 7:15pm sharp. Entrance is £4 on the door and includes snacks.
Andy Smith, the project organiser said “This is a great opportunity for movie buffs and fans of left-field cinema to get together, watch a movie and then have an interesting discussion after. I think it’s important in an increasingly disposable culture to be able to analyse any work of art and critically dissect and discuss it. – and if that’s not your thing we have a bar!”
