A commemoration of the 375th anniversary of the Plot, Siege and Battle which took place in Weymouth during the English Civil War in February 1645, causing the loss of over 500 lives and being a big factor in the King, Charles 1 losing his crown and eventually, his head.

What took place over those three weeks in Weymouth, helped to shape English history and we strive to keep the memory alive of all those who fought and died there in this hugely important Battle, be they Royalist or Parliamentarian.

The day will consist of a Talk by the renowned Author of the Stonewylde series, KIT BERRY who will be discussing her new Work In Progress, an English Civil War novel, set on Portland and entitled THE RAVEN HIMSELF.

A talk by the renowned Author, Historian and TV Personality, PROFESSOR RONALD HUTTON on Oliver Cromwell
An excellent comedy turn from BISHOP BRAY, the worlds only 17th Century stand up comedian !

And … a concert by the Internationally renowned, Celtic Rock Band, THE DOLMEN who will be performing their seminal 2009 album The Crabchurch Conspiracy live, during the evening with actor JON DIXON narrating.

There will also be a second half to this concert with the band performing some of their most memorable and popular songs in their own inimitable style !

Your compere for the day will be the actor JANE McKELL.
