POP-UP KITCHEN LAUNCHES FEAST WEYMOUTH IN STYLE

Local Chefs showcase delicious samples of FEAST Menus in Weymouth town centre
Saturday 1st October, sees the first ever FEAST Weymouth pop-up kitchen launch the start of this exciting dining event. The pop-up kitchen will be situated in the town centre on New Bond Street and is a celebration of local food and drink – showcasing some of what will be on offer throughout FEAST 2016. Participating chefs and local foodie experts will be demonstrating dishes from their FEAST menus as well as talking about their particular specialties. A great opportunity for locals to get a taste for FEAST Weymouth 2016.
Along with delicious food, The Stable’s very own Flagon Wagon will be on–site to liven up the party with local cider! Wessex FM will also have a presence throughout the day, capturing the afternoon demos and talks. Weymouth BID is financially supporting FEAST Weymouth as one of the eight events that the BID hosts during the year to attract more visitors to the town in the out of season months.
Abigail Perry, Marketing manager at The Stable commented: “It is really exciting to be part of FEAST Weymouth this year. We can’t wait to kick start the event with our famous Flagon Wagon at the Pop up Kitchen on Saturday. We are also thrilled to talk to people about our local pizza and of course – real cider!
The FEAST Weymouth pop up kitchen, courtesy of Dorset Farmers’ Market, is a fully equipped mobile demonstration kitchen, purpose-built with all necessary equipment and utensils for the chefs to prepare some of their wonderful dishes from the FEAST Menus. The fully installed camera and audio system with large screen television will ensure everyone in the audience has a perfect view of the demo.
The FEAST kitchen will be open at 11am with the following chef demos and talks:
11am – Wessex FM to kick off the event
11.10 – Nigel Reed talks a little about Feast Weymouth
11.20 – Demo – Michelle Hind from No.4
11.50 – Demo – Luciano Da Silva from The Nothe Tavern
12.30 – Tim Gibb from The Stable – cider tasting
1.10 – Roger from Rogers Coffee Shop – with some lunch tasters
1.40 – Demo – Andy Cooke from Ayya – cooks up some Hao Cow burgers and talks about Wagyu beef
2.00 – Julie Cleaver lets us know about more upcoming events
2.30 – Demo – Chef Eric from Les Enfants Terribles cooks up a storm
3.00 – Thanks and goodbye from Wessex FM
As well as chef demos and lots of free samples, an incredible cooking class from Les Enfants Terribles is up for grabs! The cooking gift experience is for two people to share, under the careful guidance of Chef Eric. The winner can expect a tailor made class to any range of ability. Eric is a patient and gifted teacher offering many useful insights and lots of advice. During his nearly 30 years of experience, Eric has been Head Chef in French, European and Asian kitchens, in Restaurants and hotels which now means his skills and style can be expertly turned to creating world class flavour. Eric Tavernier Chef/Owner of Les Enfants Terribles commented: “Moving to Weymouth and opening up Les Enfants Terribles has been such experience so far and I am very excited to see how Feast Weymouth works as I have heard such good things from the locals about the event. I am of course looking forward to my demo at the pop up kitchen on the 1st October and we are also very happy to offer one of our exclusive cookery classes to two people!”

Diners are encouraged to follow FEAST Weymouth on social media as fantastic prizes will be available throughout the 8 weeks on Facebook.
The FEAST Weymouth promotion works with each participating venue providing a set-menu or offer within the price ranges of £5, £10, £15, £20 or £25 for customers to dine at the establishment throughout the month of October and until the 30th November. Each venue will have its own terms and conditions so diners are encouraged to call ahead and book. Menus for each participating venue will be displayed across the We Are Weymouth UK website.
