Marlboro, St Thomas Street
Originally founded in 1974, this family-run restaurant became famous when manager Shaun Hatton was called in to work with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and Jamie Oliver to help the celebrity chefs in their bid to showcase the use sustainable fish. Subsequently, the Marlboro’s famous Mackerel Bap was devised! Try the restaurant, takeaway or home delivery.
Fish‘n’Fritz, Market Street
Just a few minutes’ walk from the harbourside and a stone’s throw away from the town centre, Fish’n’Fritz was recently named one of the UK’s 10 Best Fish & Chip Restaurants by Fry Magazine. The staff are really friendly, there’s lots of choice on the menu plus they also have gluten free and vegetarian options available.
The Old Harbour, St Edmunds Street
Open Monday to Sunday, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Old Harbour Fish and Chips Weymouth hand cuts and fillets their fish and only use local potatoes, peeled and chipped on the premises! There’s plenty of room in the restaurant and they offer gluten-free batter on request.
