6 Things To Do In Weymouth This Weekend

There’s lots of activities happening and things to do in Weymouth this weekend. Here are a few of the events and festivals that have caught our eye…
1. Dorset Seafood Festival.
Whatever your plans this weekend, be sure to catch the award winning, free to attend 10th Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival taking place around Weymouth’s famous historic harbourside on 8th and 9th July 2017.
2. Upwey Open Gardens.
The annual Open Gardens event in the beautiful village of Upwey, just outside of Weymouth will take place on 8th & 9th July 2.00pm to 6.00pm. A variety of gardens will be open from the very small to the larger gardens with colourful flowers and pretty plants.
Craft stalls, a demonstration from local potters, a display of vintage vehicles, and live music from BitterSweet Harmony and The Care Free Choir. The outside café will also be open selling cream teas, coffees and cakes.
To complement Open Gardens there will also be an art exhibition in the Old School Hall and the usual local businesses – Wishing Well Cafe, Gallery on the Wey, Island Garden Nursery.£4.00 per adult which covers both days, accompanied children go free. All proceeds go to support future village events and projects.
3. Party in the Park at Willowbed Hall, Chickerell hosted by the Spirit of Chickerell
Saturday 1.00pm – 8.00pm. Bring a picnic and enjoy the afternoon’s free entertainment. Live Music from Chloe and Tom, Matt Taylor, Side Door project, Peacock Suit and the Mad Hatters. Townsends Fair will be there too along side stalls selling arts crafts books and gifts.
Bring your own picnic or enjoy the ice creams and hot food on sale. Annual produce show in Willowbed Hall from 12.30 – 4pm

4. Cider Fest at the Boot Inn.
The Boot Inn are hosting a cider festival to celebrate 3 of Dorset’s Best Cider producers. West Milton Cider, Dorset Star & Purbeck Cider Company. A traditional Cider Press will be on site.
We will have a producer from Dorset Star Cider with us at 6pm on Saturday 8th making some fresh apple juice with a traditional cider press whilst giving a talk which will be followed by a Cider & Cheese tasting.
Purbeck cider producer will be with us at 1pm on Sunday, along with a cider & seafood matching. Two days and over 20 ciders to try…. Heaven!
5. Kermiz, Le Cirque du Platzak.
A special one-off circus performance at the Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival in Weymouth this July.
Acclaimed circus artists, Le Cirque du Platzak with their darkly comic show, Kermiz, peppered with crazy action and live klezmer music will present a very special set of interactive music installations.
A man with a fascination for lawnmowers and lettuce, a temperamental Italian aerialist fighting with a Spanish toreador and an acrobat obsessed with staplers – just some of the eccentric characters in this high-energy show, peppered with rousing live klezmer music. Charges apply.
