Weymouth and Portland Pride announces exciting line-up

Excitement is building ahead of Weymouth and Portland’s first Pride event. Weymouth and Portland Pride has something for everyone and there is plenty of entertainment planned for the whole family. 

The #PrideByTheSeaside 3 day festival will take place over the weekend of July 26th-July 28th 2019 at Radipole Park and other locations around Weymouth. The event begins with the Pride Parade and will finish with an awesome fireworks display on Weymouth seafront. 

The Saturday stage is headlined by JLS star Aston Merrygold, 90s dance sensations Booty Luv and Big Brovas and X Factor 2018 stars Misunderstood. Check out the full-line up below: 

Parade Street Party – 1:00pm Friday 26th July – Radipole Park Drive

Weymouth and Portland Pride Weekend with a brand new walking street parade. The parade will be a colourful and diverse celebration, including school groups, acts, charities and businesses. The event starts at Radipole Park Drive at 1pm where the theme Pride by the seaside will really come to life with fancy dress competitions and amazing parade entries. Wessex FM will be there to provide music and will be broadcasting live, expect music, fancy dress and some great entertainment for all the family to enjoy.

Open Air Cinema – 3:00pm Friday 26th July – Radipole Park

The Open Air Cinema hosted by Children’s Storyteller Mama G starts at 3:00pm and will show three family films, Beauty & the Beast, The Greatest Showman & Grease. Other attractions include Weymouth Beach Punch & Judy, Face Painting, Glitter, Hot Dogs, Donuts, Popcorn and Candy Floss.

Weymouth and Portland Pride Festival – 12:00pm Saturday 27th July – Radipole Park

The main stage festival commences at 12:00pm at Radipole Park with a huge line up of acts and events scheduled for what promises to be a truly magical day for all the family to enjoy.

Host Vicki Vivacious welcomes a diverse and electric line up to the stage acts starting from 12:30pm include local DJ’s Chris Bonney, Matty Howes and Andy Cleeton,  the UK’s top Little Mix tribute band, incredible Pink tribute Laura Tapp, the world famous ABBA tribute Revival, UK drag sensation Son of a Tutu and finalists from the BBC All together Now series The Sundaes. The headliners are Misunderstood, Booty Luv and Big Brovaz and Aston Merrygold.

Pride in the Park – 12:00pm Sunday 28th July – Radipole Park

Pride in the Park is a day for all the family showcasing, local live music, local DJs and entertainment to suit all ages. The entertainment commences from 12:00pm showcasing local talent from Weymouth College, live music from local singer songwriter Finlay Leslie, Neil Coad, Lady Gaga tribute Leanne Jackson and DJ Matty H. The Leggomen end off the weekend with a brand new tribute act, featuring X-Factor, All Together Now and West End stars in the Best Of The Boybands.

Pride in the Sky Fireworks – 9:30pm Sunday 28th July – Weymouth Beach

Join the party on the seafront as we bring an end to Pride celebrations with a colourful, exciting fireworks display.
