Even though the days are becoming shorter that is no reason for great events and entertainment to come to a halt in Weymouth. The town’s autumn and winter events have already begun and whether you are a foodie or a family there is something for everyone!
FEAST Weymouth and Freaky Streets are just around the corner and the sound of jingle bells with the smell of mulled wine at Weymouth’s BIG Christmas is not far away.
FEAST Weymouth, 3rd October to 30th November, is an 8-week long celebration of local independent eateries featuring exclusive menus and offers ranging from £5 to £25. Over 25 restaurants from across Weymouth are participating this year making the range of dishes and delicious meals on offer bigger than before. The FEAST menus have something for everyone including flavours of India and Spain to the taste of home with fish and chips and Dorset themed platters. Take your pick from breakfast bites, light lunches or three course dinners, there is something to delight the taste buds any time of the day. Browse participating restaurants and their full menus on the We Are Weymouth website at weareweymouth.co.uk/feast.
Nigel Reed, Weymouth BID Manager said “It is very important that the BID continues to encourage visitors into Weymouth during the Autumn and Winter and we do this through a continuous programme of events. The highlight of the season will be the real Christmas ice rink which will return on 2nd December and will be open daily until 2nd January. The ice rink was a big success last year and we have had many requests from businesses, visitors and residents for it to return. With over 20,000 people now following We Are Weymouth activities on Facebook we can really spread the news about exciting events which are taking place in Weymouth all year round including our “Shop by the Sea” campaign which will encourage people to shop locally.”
Freaky Streets, will run from 22nd – 29th October, bringing something a little scary to the streets of Weymouth throughout the October half term. From the 22nd, you can take part in a hair-raising street trail which will lead you around the towns eerie and weird window displays plus an entry to win some spooktacular prizes. The main event will take place on Spooky Saturday (29th October), where there will be circus skills, pavement art, creepy storytelling, fancy dress competitions and much more ghoulish goings on to enjoy.
