Short breaks in Dorset are perfect for getting that refreshed feeling!
There’s only one thing more fun than a long break… and that’s experiencing one of the great short breaks in Dorset! And here in Weymouth we’ve got everything you need for a really great, refreshingly brief holiday. Whether you can get away mid-week or across a weekend, head on down to the Jurassic Coast. It offers the perfect combination of things to do surrounded by beautiful countryside.
There’s a great variety of accommodation to choose from. For a proper taste of the Great Outdoors we have some superb caravan sites and holiday parks in Weymouth. They offer some of the best caravan holidays and campsites in Dorset. Weymouth Bay and Seaview Holiday Park and great fun locations. Or for that little touch of glamour there’s Eweleaze Farm. Go glamping Dorset style!
Once you’ve unpacked it’s time for the fun to begin. Why not kick off by aiming high… travel 53 metres up for the Sea Life Tower Ride, or to really push the boat out book an exhilarating ride on a high speed rib with spectacular views of the Jurassic cliffs. For a little more sedate option venture into the RSPB reserve to spot some of our local wildlife. The famous Isle of Portland is a short bus ride away where you can see the Olympic rings sculpture while taking in breath-taking views over 18 miles of Chesil beach. Then you can be back in time for fish and chips on the Old Harbour.
So for one of the best short breaks in Dorset there’s always something going on in Weymouth. And if you can time your visit with one of our many festivals there’ll be extra stuff to enjoy. If you like fish try the Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival in July, or if you’re a lover of live music come along during Out Loud Festival (26th-27th June). Foodies are well catered for with the Dorset Farmers’ Markets (last Friday every month). And for something really big roll up for Tankfest (27th & 28th June). On a sportier note you can come along for the GU Triathlon (12th July). Or support your favourite team in the Volleyball Classics (24th-26th July). Whenever you plan your short break, you won’t be short of fun things to do. Short breaks in Dorset are actioned packed!
