Today, April 7th is World Health Day, so at We Are Weymouth we have brought together some great ideas and things to do for you to get active in Weymouth!
Littlemoor, Radipole, Portland and The Front Skate park
Weymouth has plenty of FREE Skateparks dotted around the town in Littlemoor, Radipole and Portland, but if you’re looking to go a bit more pro head to The Front Skatepark ranging from £3 – £5 a session!
From football to bastketball to tennis, all of this is available to you for free use in Radipole so get on your trainers get your ball of choice and get active, and why not go out onto the gigantic field big enough for a big group event!
Tennis and Bowls at Greenhill
Get ready for a bit of sport accompanied by one of the best views in Weymouth. Greenhill caters not only to beach goers with it’s restaurant and beach huts during the summer but also has it’s more sporty side to it, so why not pick up your racket or bowls set and make your way there for a day in the sun?
Fill your boots with as many activities as you like at Redlands Sport Centre. With not only 2 sports halls that are a host to a number of fitness classes and indoor sports but also a large field equipped with an outdoor fitness centre and AstroTurf Football pitches!
With 13 Cycling routes in Weymouth ranging from a short ride to such as the Preston Route (0.9 miles) which takes you through Lodmoor RSPB Nature Reserve to the Tour De Manche passing through Dorset, Normandy, Brittany and Devon with a distance of roughly 750 miles you sure do get a variety! Ironman Weymouth & Ironman 70.3, 11th September 2016
This new IRONMAN event will run in conjunction with IRONMAN 70.3 Weymouth, bringing thousands of athletes to England’s South Coast in early September for the ultimately one-day test of endurance.
