Weymouth has several excellent holiday parks, some with static caravan accommodation and some accepting tents, but all Weymouth caravan parks are situated in the most beautiful countryside, overlooking the bay.
Waterside Chesil Vista sits on the Weymouth end of the causeway between Weymouth and Portland. It’s perfect for views across the London 2012 Olympic Windsurfing venue, Portland Harbour, trips along the Fleet on the UNESCO World Heritage Jurassic Coast, hunting for fossils and wildlife. Also from here you can jump on the Weymouth & Portland bus route for frequent access to Weymouth town centre and its award-winning beach, and the magical Isle of Portland.
There are several popular camping sites along the Jurassic Coast road between Weymouth and Bridport. One of the nearest to Weymouth is Bagwell Farm touring park, a popular family campsite with their very own donkeys and goats that the children can meet. Pebble Bank camping park overlooking Chesil Beach is north of Wyke Regis, has excellent facilities including a bar, and welcomes tents and accepts dogs. Haven Holiday Park, also in that area, welcomes tents, and Littlesea Holiday Park, right next door, has static caravans to rent or buy for that perfect family holiday.
Waterside Holiday Park and Spa in Bowlease Cove, to the east, offers stunning views across Weymouth Bay, with 5 star facilities and a spa treatment centre, with family self-catering accommodation. Or to get more out into the wild, there is Osmington Holiday Park, further eastwards along the coast. Perched halfway up the hill, and offering glorious views across Weymouth Bay to Portland, White Horse Holiday Park is situated just below the white chalk hill carving of King George III on a horse.
Along the White Horse Road, nearer to Weymouth, is Haven’s Seaview Holiday Park, which offers static caravans and has pitches for your motorhome or tent, along with excellent family facilities.
Caravan Club members can stay at either the Isle View Camping at Osmington, overlooking Weymouth Bay, or at Rosewall campsite, also in the Osmington area, which welcomes families with tents, and offers outdoor activities such as horse riding at its own stables – perfect for those young horse-lovers!
