There’s so much live music in Weymouth. There’s something for everyone from rock covers and heavy metal to blues, folk, jazz and classical.
Punching way above its weight for entertainment, there’s so much live music in Weymouth. Many pubs and clubs host top class live bands every weekend, and some during the week as well. There’s everything from rock covers and heavy metal to blues, folk and jazz. A folk club meets every Wednesday night in The Sailors Return, while you can ‘Singalong with Steve’ every Thursday night at the Duke of Cornwall. Finns pub is one of Britain’s premier rock pubs, and is often the venue for famous international rock bands.
Friday and Saturday nights see Weymouth positively heaving with live music. With (usually) FREE ENTRY, almost every pub and club in the town, on the Esplanade and around the Old Harbour, is alive with cover bands, Karaoke and Open Mic Nights.
Alternatively, you can spend an afternoon at St Mary’s Church in the centre of Weymouth, taking in a live recital of classical music – often Beethoven or Brahms sonatas written for Violin and Piano.
