Weymouth Pavilion is a purpose-built theatre at the southern end of Weymouth Beach. Here, you can take in Weymouth theatre events such as the ever-popular musical extravaganza ‘That’ll be the Day’ in the main theatre, or attend a rock gig – perhaps Sepultura in the Ocean Room.
There are also plenty of traditional seaside acts like Chas’n’Dave and Jim Davison. For a special evening, treat yourself to a pre-performance meal in the Pavilion’s restaurant and bar, overlooking the glorious lazer-lit Weymouth Bay.
Both Weymouth Drama Club and Weymouth’s local amateur dramatic society ‘WOW’ put on regular theatre events at the Pavilion. The Bay Theatre performs regularly at Weymouth College. Tickets are available online.
On Saturdays in the Summer, look out for Street Theatre, such as Human Statues, Balloon Modelers, Jugglers, Buskers and Stilt-walkers. There is usually some sort of entertainment in the town centre.
Or occasionally, there may be small re-enactments of Smugglers or Pirates – all good fun, and always an ideal photo opportunity.
