Fayre in the Square

There are many fundraising and charity events in Weymouth throughout the year. Fayre in the Square in May raises funds for local charities, while the Lions Beach Motocross Weekend in October raises money for local individuals in need.

The Weymouth Half Marathon in March raises money for local causes, and every July hundreds of women, dressed in pink, do a 10 mile ‘Moonwalk’ starting on Weymouth Esplanade at midnight, to raise funds for a local hospice.

Harbour Swim

On Christmas Day locals and visitors watch hundreds shivering souls in fancy dress and wetsuits brave the freezing cold waters of Weymouth Harbour to raise money for their chosen charities. Revelers can follow on with a warm mince pie and seasonal tipple in the Harbourside pubs for the perfect way to say ‘Happy Christmas’ to friends new and old.

Lifeboat Week

Weymouth Lifeboat puts on a whole week of events in the Summer, including tours of the actual Lifeboat, coastguard helicopter rescue displays at Nothe Gardens, and a Harbourside service to bless the Lifeboat.
