2 Club Challenge at Wessex Golf Centre.
This takes place again not long after the clocks go forward on April 25th. Price this year is £27 each to include the golf, a larger supper at The Balti House on Commercial Road and a donation to the Autism Unseen Kilimanjaro Challenge.
We have already raised well over £1000 for this event during our Charity Race Night, but every person going needs around £3000 to cover costs and a donation to Dig Deep who run these events.
We will have another nearest the pin on the 6th at £3 a shot and a raffle at the evening meal. We raised around £600 at each of the last two events which on one occasion was match funded by Barclays. We are seeking a match funder for this event too in return for publicity across our social media. If you wish to do this please let me know soonest so we can maximise the publicity.
People can go off in teams of 2-4 across the day from 2pm but I am happy to be there from noon if people want to head out early. Last tee time needs to be about 6:30 as it normally takes around 60-90 minutes per round.
The golf is a casual affair, but gets competitive! You will need two clubs but NO PUTTERS please. Most opt for a short iron and a 4 or 5 rescue or Fairway Wood. The longest hole is just over 200 yards. You will also need a ball or two (or three!)
You will need to bring tees and soft shoes. You don’t need golf shoes and jeans/casual is fine. The club keep the course open so we slot you in around other players as you arrive. We would like to know your expected arrival time at Wessex Golf though to help stop the course backing up.
I am happy to take cash on the day or cheques. Donations for raffle prizes also most welcome.
Please let me know if you want to play along with names of your team mates.
