Get a taste of Dorset made Gin in Weymouth! The revolution of gin is becoming more and more popular by the day. Dorset has certainly embraced this trend, with multiple Gin distilleries now in the county and there are many places in Weymouth you can try these at.
The first gin distillery to open in Dorset was only in 2013, which saw Conker Spirit work their way in to the market. Lilliput Gin introduced themselves in January 2017, producing their own Dorset Gin which is available at stores in Weymouth. You can also find Dorset crafted Gin’s in Weymouth including Fordington Gin, a gin distillery just a few minutes up the road based in Dorchester as well as Pothecary Gin.
Why has gin suddenly become really popular? – Since government laws changed allowing gin to be made in much smaller distilleries, gin makers could then start producing their own which didn’t have to be made in masses. This meant that smaller manufacturers were allowed to enjoy the pleasure of making the fine drink. Now we can enjoy a taste of Dorset!
