Weymouth prepares for 2017 Chase the Pudding – 10th Anniversary Event
Santas, elves, fairies and many other fabulous festive characters will gather together on Weymouth Beach to take part in the annual Chase the Pudding Event (Weymouth Pavilion end) on Sunday 17 December.
Everybody is invited to come along cheer and support this colourful festive event on Weymouth seafront starting at 11am, with warm-up and `Santa Stretch’ from 10.45am.
Event organisers were delighted with last year’s event and with the 10th Anniversary are aiming for yet another big turnout this year, raising lots of money for this popular local charity the Will Mackaness Trust.
Everyone is invited to enter the event. The course is approximately 5km from the Weymouth Pavilion end of the beach to The Groyne at Greenhill and back again. Entry fees are £10 (£15 with Santa suit included). All race entries and event sponsorship will go to the Will Mackaness Trust.
Following the successful introduction last year there will also be a ‘Chase the elf’ event running for under 14s. This event will start five minutes after the Chase the Pudding race, and will be half the length of the main race. Entry fees for this race will be £5.
Pam Govier, Will Mackaness Trust Director, said: “We are very excited to be hosting the 10th Anniversay event of the Chase the Pudding, we have invited all the puddings over the years to attend `Pudding Re-union’ and are also inviting all santa’s over the years to join us for this special event. There is no more amazing site than watching hundreds of Santa’s and Elfs chasing a big Christmas Pudding along the beach.”
